Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country “has a leading role in the new world order“, commenting on the developments in global politics in recent weeks at a meeting of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) parliamentary group, “Yeni Şafak“ reported.
“All actors in international politics have started to look for new opportunities. It is obvious that trade wars will have their effect. It will not be an exaggeration if I say that a time of violence is coming that will affect everyone, no matter whether they are big or small“, Erdogan said, noting that “Turkey, which shines like a guiding star, is among the countries that are best able to navigate the current situation.“
“Turkey is a capable country. The world has already accepted the new Turkey, even Western countries have accepted it, but the main opposition party in our country refuses to do so," Erdogan added, criticizing the opposition for "not understanding and not being able to navigate the current situation."
"Watching the state of the Republican People's Party (CHP), we feel sorry for our country. They never recognized their own people and I fear they never will," Erdogan added.
