Ukraine has received a tranche of aid in the amount of 1 billion euros from the European Union as part of the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration Loan Initiative, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"We are grateful to our partners for supporting the economy and the rapid recovery of our country. We also paid attention to the use of frozen Russian assets. Ukraine counts on the EU's leadership in directing these funds to our recovery," he wrote on the social network X after a meeting with European Commissioner for Economic and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis. At the meeting, the two discussed Ukraine's macroeconomic situation and recovery amid the conflict with Russia.
Last month, Ukraine received £752 million from the United Kingdom as the first tranche through Russian frozen assets under the G7 program.
