The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering drone strikes against drug cartels in Mexico in an attempt to combat the trafficking of illegal substances across the southern border, "NBC News" reported today, quoted by Reuters, BTA writes.
The American media outlet refers to six current and former US military, law enforcement and intelligence officials familiar with the matter.
In response to the article, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that her country would categorically not accept any unilateral US military operation in Mexico and that such military action "would not solve nothing".
She added that the US and Mexico have a good dialogue on security issues and that she believes the US should not take such unilateral actions.
