The Norwegian government will allocate 10 billion Norwegian kroner ($939 million) for equipment and training of a Ukrainian army brigade, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA, citing a press release from the Norwegian government.
"Norway is united with Europe for stronger support for Ukraine in both political, economic and military aspects. "Building a larger land force is important for Ukraine, and we have now allocated ten billion Norwegian kroner for this purpose in 2025," Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik said in a statement.
The Norwegian government has proposed a sharp increase in military support for Ukraine this year by an additional 50 billion Norwegian kroner. This brings total Norwegian support for Ukraine in 2025 to 85 billion Norwegian kroner.
Norway has officially joined the international drone coalition for Ukraine, led by the United Kingdom and Latvia, Sandvik said on Friday.
Ukraine is seeking a solution to repair the damage caused by a Russian drone attack on the protective sarcophagus of the decommissioned Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
This was stated by the Ukrainian Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Svitlana Grinchuk, quoted by Reuters.

Ukraine is working with experts to determine the best way to restore the proper functioning of the protective sarcophagus after the drone strike on February 14.
"Unfortunately, after the attack, the arch partially lost its functionality. And now, I think that in May we will have the results of the analysis that we are currently conducting," Grinchuk said during the opening of a solar power plant near the "Chernobyl" nuclear power plant.
The analysis involves the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, scientific institutions and companies involved in the installation of the protective arch placed over the damaged fourth reactor of the "Chernobyl" nuclear power plant in 2019.
"In a few weeks, we will have the first results of this analysis," Grinchuk added.
On February 14, a Russian drone with an explosive warhead hit the protective sarcophagus built around the damaged fourth reactor of the "Chernobyl" nuclear power plant, Ukrinform notes. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed that debris from a Russian attack drone of the "Shahed" "Geran-2" type were found in and near the protective structure. Experts believe the attack on the plant was deliberate.
Moscow has dismissed the accusations as a provocation.
Ukrainian authorities have assured that the radiation level at the plant site remains within normal limits and there is no threat to residents.
