The Kremlin said that relations with the United States are developing well, but also warned that the damage done to ties with Moscow during the previous American administration was serious, Reuters reported, BTA reports.
“Everything is going very well“, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a reporter for Russian state television, Pavel Zarubin. "The fact is that reviving relations from scratch is a very difficult task that requires very intensive diplomatic and other efforts," TASS quoted Peskov as saying.
According to him, many problems have accumulated in relations between Moscow and Washington, which means that one should not expect lightning-fast results from contacts between the two countries.
"It is impossible to expect any immediate results," Peskov stressed. "The problems are too complex and too neglected."
"Now we are walking this path together very patiently. We still have many steps ahead of us, but we need to understand how serious damage was done to bilateral Russian-American relations during the previous administration," Peskov pointed out. “Now, diligent work is being done to eliminate these consequences“.
The Kremlin spokesman did not fail to note the strained relations between the United States and Ukraine. According to him, the Kiev regime, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, is behaving “disgustingly“, which is leading to tension between the United States and Ukraine.
“The Kiev regime does not get along with Washington, things are not going well between them. We see that such disgusting behavior of representatives of the Kiev regime is not exactly to the taste of the current administration of [US President Donald] Trump“, Peskov noted, quoted by TASS.
