The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaia Kallas, called on Monday for “maximum pressure“ on Russia to end the war in Ukraine. Her statement came a day after a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy killed 34 people, including two children, Ukrainian authorities said, News.bg reports.
“I think we need to put pressure - maximum pressure - on Russia to stop this war, because it takes two to make peace,“ Kallas told reporters upon arrival at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.
“Anyone who wants the killings to stop must act decisively,“ she stressed, as quoted by “Reuters“.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump described the missile strike as “horrifying“ but refrained from directly blaming Russia for the attack.
