Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a news conference in Kiev on Monday that Russia has reduced the number of strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities but has instead started attacking civilian infrastructure, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Russia and Ukraine agreed to a US-brokered 30-day moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure last month. However, the two sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating it.
Zelensky noted that Russia has generally fired the same number of missiles and drones at Ukraine as before the agreement.
At the same press conference, the Ukrainian president said he had intelligence that China was supplying Russia with artillery and gunpowder.
“We believe that Chinese representatives are involved in the production of some weapons on the territory of Russia“, Zelensky said, without specifying whether he meant artillery systems or shells.
The accusation is likely to further worsen relations between Kiev and Beijing, which are already tense after Ukraine publicly announced that it had captured Chinese citizens fighting for Russia, according to Reuters.
China is trying to maintain an image of neutrality in the war that has been going on for more than three years.
