At least seven people were killed in drone strikes by the Israeli Air Force in southern Lebanon, the Lebanon 24 news portal reported.

According to the media, during one of the attacks on the village of Kautaria al-Sayyad, the military leader of the Shiite organization Hezbollah, Hussein Ali Nasser, who was responsible for supplying armed groups, was killed.

Most of the strikes were aimed at the outskirts of the city of Nabatiya and the mountainous region of Iqlim al-Tufa, where Shiite militants have military facilities. Several people were injured, their number is being clarified. A Lebanese soldier was wounded in the attack on the village of Arnun.

On April 17, the country's Information Minister Paul Morcos announced that since the ceasefire agreement came into force on November 27, 2024, Israel has violated the ceasefire in southern Lebanon 2,740 times. According to him, at least 190 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes and shelling since the end of November last year. Morcos did not specify how many of them were civilians.
