US President Donald Trump again called on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to commit to peace and stop the fighting in Ukraine, the BBC reported.
"I want him to stop shooting, sit down and sign an agreement," Trump told reporters. - "I believe we have the conditions for an agreement and I want Putin to sign it, get it over with and just get back to normal life", the head of state said.
Over the weekend, Trump said that Putin "had no reason to be shelling civilian areas, cities and towns over the last few days".
"It makes me think that maybe he doesn't want to end the war", he wrote on his social media profiles.
That same evening, Trump said that his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Vatican on Saturday "went well".
"I think the meeting went well. We'll see what happens in the next few days. Maybe we'll learn a lot of new things. "I was very disappointed that the missiles came from Russia," Trump said.
He added that he believed Zelensky was interested in reaching a peace agreement.
