Iran accuses Netanyahu of dictating US policy on nuclear deal - 1

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dictating US policy in talks on the Iranian nuclear program, reports "Agence France-Presse", BTA reports.

"However, what is striking is the audacity with which Netanyahu is now dictating to (US) President Donald Trump what he can or cannot do in his diplomacy with Iran," Araghchi wrote on his profile on the "Ex" social network.

Yesterday, the Israeli prime minister called for an agreement with Tehran that "eliminates Iran"s ability" to enrich uranium and deprive the country of ballistic missiles.

Tehran and Washington, who have been at odds since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, held a third round of talks in Oman on Saturday.

US officials described the talks as "positive and constructive", and Araghchi said the two sides would try to iron out their differences before the next meeting.

"Israel imagines that it can dictate what Iran can or cannot do, but this is so far from reality that it hardly deserves a response," the Iranian foreign minister added.

Araghchi stressed that his country was in a position to thwart "any attempt by malicious external factors to sabotage its foreign policy or dictate its course of action."

"We can only hope that our American colleagues will show the same firmness," Araghchi said.

The previous agreement with Iran was reached in 2015 but collapsed after Trump decided to withdraw the US from it in 2018 during his first term.

After returning to the White House in January, the US president called on Iran to negotiate a new agreement but threatened Tehran with bombing if diplomacy failed to produce results.
