In order to maintain their dominance, Western countries do not shy away from scenarios of "nuclear apocalypse and flirting with neo-Nazis", said Nikolai Patrushev, advisor to the Russian president and head of the Naval Collegium, in an interview with TASS.
„Desperately resisting global changes, Brussels, Berlin, Paris and a number of other European capitals are once again following the shameful path of flirting with the Nazis, deploying the military machine against Russia and starting to fantasize scenarios of nuclear apocalypse“, he noted.
„For the second year in a row, NATO is holding the largest exercises in recent decades near to our borders, where he is working out scenarios for offensive actions on a large territory – from Vilnius to Odessa, seizing the Kaliningrad region, blocking shipping in the Baltic and Black Seas and preemptive strikes on the permanent bases of the Russian nuclear deterrent forces“, he said.
Patrushev pointed out that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is threatening Russia with “the dubious power of the long-dead British fleet and the nuclear weapons on board its submarines“.
“Ursula von der Leyen, Mark Rutte and other officials are copying him“, said the adviser to the Russian president.
