The Russian Defense Ministry reported that overnight, air defense (ADF) forces on duty destroyed 40 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones heading towards various regions of the country. The most drones were shot down over Ryazan Oblast (11), followed by Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (8), Oryol Oblast (7) and other regions, including the Moscow and Crimean regions, News.bg reports.
Since the attacks began on Monday evening, according to Russian authorities, a total of 91 Ukrainian drones have been shot down.
On the same night, in Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, a Russian drone strike killed a 12-year-old girl and wounded her parents. A private house was hit in the attack, the Ukrainian emergency services said. In another part of the same attack, another child was rescued from under the rubble.
Meanwhile, Kiev was attacked by a new wave of Russian drones. According to the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, a fire broke out in the Desna district after debris fell. A three-story building at a recreation center was completely burned down, with one woman injured and receiving medical treatment at the scene.
The mayor and the local military administration confirmed that air defense forces had been activated in Kiev and the region. An air alert was also declared in other parts of the country, including Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia carried out a new attack with 100 combat drones on Tuesday evening. 37 of them were shot down and 47 failed to reach their targets. The attack affected Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
Russian drone attacks in Ukraine have increased in frequency in recent weeks, often targeting city centers and critical infrastructure.
