Ukraine is preparing for discussions with the United States on new sanctions measures. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video address, quoted by "Ukrinform".
"We are also preparing for talks with the United States on new sanctions steps - we are identifying exactly those pressure points on Russia that will most effectively push Moscow towards diplomacy. They must take clear steps to end the war, and we insist that an unconditional and complete ceasefire should be the first step. Russia must make this move," Zelensky said.
Zelensky added: "Right now they are worried about whether they can hold their military parade - and rightly so. But what they really need to worry about is that this war is still going on. They must end the war."
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk recently met with NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Marcos Perestrelo to discuss boosting military aid to Ukraine and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
