Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused representatives of human rights organizations and Western cultural figures who are involved in the situation in Ukraine but are silent about the threats against Russian-speaking children of a lack of reaction, TASS reports.
Earlier, Ukrainian actor Bogdan Benyuk called for "children to be beaten with a stick for using the Russian language so that the child forgets it "forever".
"Where are all the world structures for the protection of human rights? Where are all the writers, artists, directors, American, for example, actors, the fashion industry of the world, who all these years were concerned with the situation in Ukraine? Where are they now, after this statement," she commented.
As Zakharova notes, "all the statements of the Western elite about the situation in Ukraine were made "according to the methodology."
Ukrainian actor Bogdan Benyuk suggested that children be "beaten with a stick on the butt" so that they "forever forget that the Russian language exists," reports "Strana".ua.
Earlier, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkyov published a poll on the need for corporal punishment of children for speaking Russian, with the majority of his subscribers being against it. It should be noted that the poll did not include the option that someone should not be beaten at all for using another language.
The Ukrainian media recalls that "The Verkhovna Rada stated that the Russian language should not be banned in schools either during breaks or during classes, as this could be perceived by the European Union as a discriminatory rule that would harm Ukraine's European integration process".
