US President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff is causing discontent among some members of the government, reports the “New York Post“ (NYP), citing sources in the White House.
“Anyone who is involved in such negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin would benefit from having people on their team with experience in Russia-related issues to accompany them to meetings with the Kremlin“, said the director of the Russian branch of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.“
According to the NYP, some US administration officials are speaking of Witkoff's recent trips in a completely negative light.“
“He is a good guy, but he is an idiot“, said a White House official.“
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reportedthat Putin had received Witkoff in the Kremlin, the conversation lasted three hours and was “constructive and very useful in nature“.“
