"The process is open, the dialogue continues and I hope that we more than 20 coalitions in the upcoming elections" stated in "The Day Begins on Sunday" Atanas Zafirov - temporary chairman of the BSP. He expressed hope that all recognizable political entities from the left space would be included in them.
He defined the behavior of Cornelia Ninova and some of the people around her as an open form of sabotage.
"I really wish this topic was already over in the BSP. There is no problem in the BSP and there are no people with whom we want to part. But this media talk about how some kind of coup happened in the BSP, how some group of people wanted to possess the party and push it in some wrong direction, shows that there are people who do not want this unification to happen.< /p>
He specified, referring to Cornelia Ninova, that when there is such behavior "it is most normal to have some measure of impact, as such actions create turmoil". The subsidy to the BSP is currently suspended due to a court case that prevents the party from performing its normal administrative functions.
"It was persistently said that the BSP is melting, remelting, depersonalizing - there is no such thing. The final arrangement of the lists will take place in the National Council of the BSP, where it will be finalized.
In his words, Cornelia Ninova cannot be a candidate for deputy because of the statutory restrictions that Ninova herself imposed. He expressed a desire to include new, young persons in the lists, who would show something new in the party and thus show that they understand the "call to change society".
Regarding the tension surrounding Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, Zafirov stated that during the consultations with the president against the candidacy of the interior minister, there were obstructions from various political forces.
"BSP does not interfere in the arrangement of the official cabinet".
Atanas Zafirov also made a clarification to make it clear to everyone that the candidacy for acting prime minister does not come from the BSP. For the upcoming elections, he expressed hope that there will be a broad public debate, including among political leaders, so that as many people as possible come out to vote.
