Christian Vigenin: Fed-up leaders try to continue leading the parade - 1

BSP has no intention of participating in a government with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. This was emphasized by Christian Vigenin – Member of the European Parliament and deputy chairman of the BSP in the show "More from the day".
Let's clarify something, a government was not discussed during the talks with GERB, we do not participate in coalition talks with GERB. We have talked about policies. We have one position – we do not participate in a coalition with GERB, nor with DPS. If we participate in some form of government, it can only be in the form of a programmatic or expert government with clear priorities and a specific term of action. We've been saying this for three terms and nobody wants to do it, and it seems to be the only formula that works because there is no trust between the parties, because fed-up leaders are trying to keep on leading the parade, and as long as this is the case, no political consent. But we need to think a little about the state," Vigenin is emphatic.

He welcomes the fact that the parties are talking.

"In my opinion, these talks are important, at least to clarify who is in what positions and to get used to the fact that regardless of whether you are the opposition or the ruling party, it is normal for there to be a dialogue between them. This would somewhat remove the taboos and the tension of being seen talking to one of the political enemies. This would be a signal for normalization. But this absolutely does not mean that now we all have to hug each other, forget the programs and say – “In the name of Bulgaria, we are all in power”. That can't be done. The BSP is principled and we are building a left-wing alternative. The alternative cannot be built if we become part of this swamp in its infancy", he also said.

According to Vigenin, the Speaker of the Parliament should not become a bargaining chip.

„The Speaker of the Parliament must be elected with the understanding that he personifies this institution and is a person who will be guided only by the rules, by the law, by the Constitution".
