A trolley driver in Sofia has a broken nose, a fractured arm and a head injury after a fight in the center of the capital.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. yesterday at the public transport stop near the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius“, recalls bTV.
The brawl also involved a cyclist, a food delivery driver and two trolley drivers. Two public transport drivers participated in the melee – one was in the trolley, and the other was waiting at the stop to change it.
According to initial information, the two drivers started fighting with the cyclist, passengers were also involved.
„She probably had some sort of argument with the cyclist and it turned into a physical assault,” said this morning Eng. Tihomir Valov, head of depot in the municipal company “Electrotransport”.
He added that according to the regulations, the driver can get off in an accident if he secures the vehicle, which is done, but then the behavior of the drivers is unacceptable.
The victim of the collision with a driver was treated at the ISUL hospital, and then he was questioned at the Fifth District Office.
The two drivers have no wrongdoings and have been working in public transport in Sofia for a relatively long time, announced Eng. Valov. Based on the testimony of the drivers, it will be decided whether and what sanctions there will be.
