19 days after the first bell of the 51st Parliament, the legislature still has no elected Speaker. The compromise today came from the first political force GERB-SDS, but it also proved to be insufficient. The deputies of the first force in the parliament withdrew from the nomination of Raya Nazaryan and surprisingly supported the candidacy of the BSP.
"Elections on Easter. Until then, all these redline battles only result in people appearing on the scene, positioning themselves for the future. This is a rather inept play," commented psychiatrist Dr. Lubomir Kanov in the program "The Day ON AIR".
In the words of the director prof. Lubomir Halachev, people who want to be leaders speak vaguely, rudely and sometimes indecently.
"The eighth election for president is not a surprise, since we have elected parliament seven times in a row. People are desperate and distrustful, they just vote on impulse, others on duty. People should think when they vote. It is difficult for them to choose a leader", he also told Bulgaria ON AIR.
"All these Byzantine games, political, are of no particular importance to me, because behind the scenes of this talentless play the real battle for power is being played out. The main issue in the play is the attorney general and his election on January 16. These are the real centers of power," emphasized Dr. Kanov.
In his words, the Attorney General will conduct the entire political class with its dependencies. Prof. Halachev and Dr. Kanov are of the opinion that the state cannot function without a justice system, but it is important that it be independent.
"Our country is perhaps the weakest link in the European Union and NATO," added Dr. Kanov.
Prof. Halachev hopes that by next Wednesday the deputies will come to an understanding and vote for Assoc. Natalia Kiselova, who is "obviously the most prepared" so that the National Assembly can start.
"It is vital in the short term that this happens. There is hope, although it is minimal," noted Dr. Kanov.
