Official from the Ministry of Education and Culture: January 3 will be closed for all schools in the country - 1

By order of the Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Galin Tsokov January 3, 2025 has been declared unschoolable for all schools in Bulgaria, the press center of the Ministry of Education reports.
In recent weeks, the Ministry of Education and Culture has been monitoring the situation throughout the country on a daily basis and conducting a continuous dialogue with the mayors of individual municipalities. Until now, the department's data show that in nearly half of the schools in the country, the educational process will not be organized on January 3, as a result of orders at the municipal level. These have been issued for 92 municipalities, in which there are 1055 educational institutions. This is over 45.5% of the total number of schools in the country, with nearly 333,000 students studying in them.
At the same time, a letter was received from the National Association of Municipalities calling for the day to be declared a non-school day. More orders at the municipality level with this decision are expected in the coming days.
In this regard, tension would be created in the system and a lack of an effective learning process if for more than half of the schools the day is non-learning, while classes are held in some of the others.
In view of the data, the Minister of Education and Science issues an order for all schools in the country. The learning content from January 3 will be restructured by teachers so that it does not affect the overall learning of the learning material.
