The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will hold a public discussion on electricity prices, BNT reported.
The energy regulator's estimates show that household electricity will increase in price by almost 9% from January 1.
The reason is that the regulator's forecast for market development differs by more than 30% and it is necessary to update prices in order to avoid accumulating losses in the system.
The largest increase will be for household consumers in Northeastern Bulgaria. There, electricity will increase in price by 9.15%. In Southern Bulgaria, the increase is expected to be 8.96 percent, and in Western Bulgaria - 8.92%.
