From 08:00 on 20.12.2024 to 08:00 on 07.01.2025, ERM West suspends large-scale repair activities on the facilities of the territory served by the company, so as not to disturb consumers during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Following its vision to provide affordable energy for every home and office, ERM West has mobilized over 150 teams on the territory of Western Bulgaria, which will be on constant alert, and it is also planned to engage additional employees if necessary. The company has prepared a duty schedule to respond immediately to emergency situations.
The preparation of the electricity distribution network in Western Bulgaria for the autumn-winter season was completed at the end of October. Over 19,400 km of overhead power lines were inspected and thorough inspections of power facilities were carried out, including thermal imaging control of facilities in over 7,600 transformer stations. Over 60 medium-voltage power lines were examined with ultrasound and the electrical characteristics of over 6,800 medium- and low-voltage cable lines were checked. Over 2,300 substations have also been maintained.
Risk areas have been identified where an increase in consumption is expected due to the mass transition from heating to electricity, and the necessary measures have been taken to secure the network.
ERM Zapad's emergency teams are fully prepared to work in severe weather conditions. They are equipped with special equipment and vehicles for access, laying routes and crossing difficult terrain - snowmobiles, ATVs, all-terrain vehicles, mini excavators, all-terrain emergency vehicles, laboratory vehicles, heavy machinery - cranes, towers, excavators, demolition machines. Employees are provided with protective work clothing, as well as the necessary materials and equipment for working in winter conditions. An organization has been created to rent specialized equipment from external companies if necessary.
To deal with severe winter situations, ERM Zapad has mobile units. An emergency reserve of materials is provided and logistical support is maintained at all times of the day, including holidays and weekends.
