The newly formed snow cover on the passes and high parts of the Rhodope Mountains is over 30 cm. Restrictions for trucks on the Prevala and Rozhen passes remain in force, FOCUS reported, citing information from the officer on duty at the Regional Road Administration - Smolyan.
Yesterday and overnight, 58 machines worked on the terrain and the roads everywhere are cleared and passable in winter conditions.
No reports of accidents on the roads in the region were received overnight. Yesterday, there were cars stuck in many places. The reason is that a large part of them were on summer tires.
The restriction on trucks through Rozhen is expected to be lifted today, and through Prevala tomorrow, the Road Service in Smolyan also specified.
The long-awaited snowfall has also begun in the Razgrad region, the regional administration announced.
A tree has fallen on the road in the area of the village of Ostrovche, but it has already been removed. The snow is about 4-5 cm, in Samuil - 8 cm, and in Razgrad - 10 cm. There is no snowfall in Loznitsa and Tsar Kaloyan. There are no power outages as of 7:00 a.m. this morning.
All roads in Razgrad district are passable.
This night in Sofia, anti-icing mixtures were applied to streets and boulevards. 162 snow removal machines were on standby in the field. Treatments were carried out in the Sredets, Vitosha, Vrabnitsa, Kremikovtsi, Pancharevo, Bankya regions on public transport routes, main streets, as well as steep sections and bridges. Anti-icing mixtures were also spread on the Southern Arc of the Sofia Ring Road.

Snow removal activities are supervised by teams of the Sofia Inspectorate. Field patrols are also carried out by the emergency teams of the Sofia Municipality.
