Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov assured that everything possible is being done to restore electricity supply throughout the country and announced current data on the settlements that still do not have power as of 5 p.m.
"8,100 subscribers still do not have electricity. About 105 settlements are without electricity. We have managed in the West Power Plant - since this morning to reduce the number of places without electricity from 50 to 27. In the South Power Plant - there were 19, and now there are 7, and in the scope of the North Power Plant - from 161 settlements have been reduced to 77", the minister summarized.
"All three electricity distribution companies will work at least until 11 p.m. Today, our expectations are to reduce the number of subscribers without electricity - to below 6,000. All breakdowns are on the territories of the companies", he stressed. Malinov stressed that tonight the document will be signed, with which the Council of Ministers will provide additional financial assistance to the affected households on Monday. And in January the assistance should be paid. This, in his words, does not cancel the right of those remaining without electricity to claim penalties from the electricity distribution companies.
"I hope the regulator will do its job and make its report on the state of the electricity transmission system publicly available. It is unacceptable for such a long period of time to be without electricity, where poles need to be replaced. I will insist that the KEVR inspection be completed as soon as possible, and that the results be public. If there is a reason, the sanctions under the law will be applied in their strictness", Malinov assured.
