Two people died and four others were injured in a serious accident on the Plovdiv - Karlovo road near the junction for the village of Kaloyanovo, BNT reported.
Around 12:00 today, a report was received about two cars that had collided head-on.
Two of the participants in the accident near the junction for the village of Kaloyanovo have been confirmed dead, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Plovdiv announced. The driver of the Volkswagen car and his passenger died, and the identities of the two are still being clarified.
Four young people who were traveling in the second car were transported to the hospital for examination. Of these, the car was driven by a 19-year-old, whose alcohol test was negative.
The accident near the junction for the village of Kaloyanovo has caused traffic difficulties on the Plovdiv - Karlovo road.
Emergency teams, the police and the fire department have been sent to the scene. Traffic is being diverted along detour routes.
