The future ruling majority of GERB, BSP and ITN rejected as unacceptable the proposal of MRF-New Beginning for the introduction of a permanent zero VAT rate for bread and flour and 9% for the restaurant business in a budget committee in the National Assembly, the formation indicates.
"The future ruling majority decided that the price of bread for Bulgarian citizens is an unacceptable issue in a budget committee and rejected it. I emphasize that the future governing majority voted “against“. Now you can explain why Mr. Peevski called this something that will be born unclean", the deputy chairman of the PG of the MRF-New Beginning Yordan Tsonev commented to the media, quoted by bTV.
"As we promised, we proposed that the zero rate for bread and flour should not be temporary, because we saw that since the New Year the price of bread has increased dramatically, this is the most necessary thing for every Bulgarian citizen", Tsonev explained.
"Last week we submitted a separate bill to implement this commitment to the people," said the deputy chairman of the PG of the MRF-New Beginning and explained that although this bill was not included in the agenda of the Committee today, next week the formation will insist on its consideration by the National Assembly.
The Budget Committee supported the proposal of the MRF-New Beginning to introduce compensation for high electricity prices for business.
DPS-New Beginning made this commitment to business so that jobs would not be lost and Bulgarian business would not lose its competitiveness, and it fulfilled it.
