The co-chairman of "We continue the change" Assen Vassilev responded to Slavi Trifonov, who in his post today stated that the country is on the verge of bankruptcy because 18 billion are missing in the budget due to Vassilev.
"If there was a hole of 18 billion leva in the budget, this would mean a budget deficit of over 9%. Despite all the talk and suggestions, the documents published by the Ministry of Finance show the following:
1. In 2023, we ended with a 3% deficit, exactly as set in the budget.
2. Currently, a budget with a 3% deficit for 2024 has been submitted to parliament, despite the significantly inflated expenses in it.
I don't give Slavi any advice on how to write his scripts, it's better if he doesn't give him any advice on financial policy either.
If he needs an excuse for why he joined the government, he should look for it somewhere else. Not in Macedonia and not in the 18 billion," Vassilev wrote on his Facebook profile.
