Pentagon Chief of Staff Joe Casper will step down within days amid the data leak scandal, Politico reports.
“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's chief of staff, Joe Casper, will leave his post in the coming days to take a new position at the department, a senior administration official said, as the Pentagon investigation continues this week“, the newspaper reports.
This week, Senior Advisor Dan Caldwell, Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick and Deputy Defense Secretary Steven Feinberg's Chief of Staff Colin Carroll were placed on leave as the investigation into the leak continues.
Politico previously reported that the Pentagon is currently investigating leaks of data that include military plans for the Panama Canal, the deployment of another US aircraft carrier to the Red Sea, as well as a visit to the Pentagon by entrepreneur Elon Musk and intelligence gathering on Ukraine.
