It was not unexpected that today the National Assembly did not lift the immunities of Jeyhan Ibryamov and Mario Rangelov. The debate in the plenary hall was very valuable. The idea of parliamentary immunity is for every representative of the people to freely express their opinion. There is nothing worse than not giving yourself immunity if you feel innocent. This is what the other deputies who were asked for their immunities did.
This was stated in "Denyat na Zivu" on NovaNews political scientist Tsvetanka Andreeva on the occasion of the latest political events in the country, quoted by novini.bg.
"The Achilles heel of this ruling coalition is the presence of DPS-Dogan. The circle around Dogan is looking for positions of power in order to wage war against the New Beginning. This is hitting the other parties in the majority. Today, DPS-New Beginning very well argues its arguments for lifting the immunities of Ibryamov and Rangelov. After all, the ruling coalition is stable. At the moment, society also gives its trust to the ruling party. The opposition is very divided and cannot give birth to any other alternative for regular governance. I do not know if the government will serve a full term. Colleagues are talking about a horizon of governance until the presidential elections. Thematic coalitions will also be sought", she added.
"It remains to be seen whether this government will bring more positives or negatives to GERB. This is the reason Borisov is going on a tour of the country. He is the architect of this majority. If he senses more negatives, Borisov will be the first to leave this coalition. The presidential elections will be very indicative. After them, Radev will most likely enter real politics. We also need to see who will take control of the presidency - the pro-European forces or those close to the Kremlin. From the point of view of politics as the government and the opposition, Borisov and Peevski are in confrontation. Peevski is trying to lead the opposition and is the sharpest in his criticism of the ruling party. I will repeat again that today the New Beginning was very well prepared for the debate on immunities. I do not think that it will soon come to a vote of no confidence in the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet, because the opposition is strongly divided," predicts Tsvetanka Andreeva.
