“I observe widespread degradation – both among young people and among those in power. Carelessness, lack of a sanitary minimum of care and interest in the future of Bulgaria. There is no resistance. We have reached the point of saving ourselves – each as he sees fit, with friends – we are fighting to survive. There is no vision for the future – just pulling from here and there“. He commented on this on the air of “This Sunday” on bTV actor Kamen Donev.
„What is most important in Bulgaria right now are drugs, pop-folk, the desire for power and Botox“, he pointed out.
„The reason is very deep, it dates back to the Changes – when the ideas of a large part of Bulgarians about a successful life and satisfaction, life's success – began to be reduced to the lowest needs. It is very sad how the value system has completely changed – in a negative way. Thank God, there are still people who hold the flag and fight. I am not saying that all is lost, but the situation is very serious“, commented Kamen Donev.
„A very vile story happened at the National Theater. It specifically does not concern me at the moment. What needs to happen there is to completely rethink the mechanism of its functioning“, said actor Kamen Donev.
He pointed out that what we leave behind is very important and specified that it cannot be a mediator between the two worlds in our country.
"There is no black and white, it is much more complicated. People who succeed and have dedicated their lives to others and humanity are something incredible", said the actor.
„The National Theater is a place where there cannot be random people, especially incompetent people, and especially those who came from somewhere, and there is no place for people who have nothing to do with art. The National Theater must be completely revised, its way of working must also be revised. I think that such an institution should be managed by a creative board. There should be a director, but the decisions about the repertoire and the creative path of such an institution should be made by several people - directors, playwrights, actors, and in general - people who are in the field and passionate about it“, said Kamen Donev.
“I was at the Army Theater for many years, there was a creative board there, where plays were discussed, and that was great, as well as important creative issues were discussed“, added the actor.
“You have to be crazy, and you are directly subject to examination, when you fire a director of such a magnitude in a self-union way“, he pointed out about Alexander Morfov, who was fired from the National Theater by decision of its director Vasil Vassilev.
“Even if it is not Sasho Marfov, it is someone else - what kind of person are you to fire a director who is emblem“, Donev also asked.
"Do you understand how far we have come? And there is widespread fear everywhere - no one says anything, some people talk left and right about how happy they were to be playing at the National Theater - nonsense on wheels, they know perfectly well what it is about, they know very well what they are playing in, and they see for themselves how much audience there is. May they be alive and well", Donev also said.
„I don't care anymore. I love the National Theater, I have played there many times - this is an emblem for the theater as a profession, this is a place with an incredible spirit, and it is unacceptable to have random people. There is already a normal government, I expect them to remove this director (of the National Theater), and put someone decent in charge, and end this stupidity, this is madness“, Donev added.
“We have no politicians. Have you seen any politician fighting for Bulgaria? On the contrary, they are fighting in parliament and making us a disgrace to the world. Politicians, unfortunately, are not a reflection of our society - the Bulgarian is very consistent, and when given the opportunity, he is a combative and moral person. He has withstood this many times over the centuries, and he cares about his homeland, but for so many decades the people were lied to and betrayed that nothing significant happened, the actor added. No one thinks about what Bulgaria will be like in 40-50 years, no one thinks about where this nation is going - we are an aging nation, children cannot speak and express themselves, they have no respect, they just jump into battle“, Donev commented.
