The 2025 budget will have a 3% deficit and a normal level of spending in order to enter the eurozone. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by the rotating chairman of the Joint Management Council (JMC), Kostadin Angelov, deputy chairman of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group, chairman of the parliamentary committee on health care.
"We will submit a budget that has the ambition to meet all necessary expenses, without reducing pensions and salaries in the public sector, without increasing taxes and social security contributions. The budget will be submitted on time, and the fears that are being spread by the opposition must be eliminated. The 18 billion bln. "There is a leva and it was in the budget submitted by Lyudmila Petkova, this shows that we have a much larger expenditure part due to decisions that we must necessarily implement, and low revenues that cannot fill the expenditure part," he specified.
Angelov emphasized that GERB has set itself an ambitious task in preparing the budget and all revenue institutions must work "at maximum" so that there are no expenses that are planned and not carried out.
The budget will first be discussed by the SSU, and then it will be proposed in the National Assembly.
In his words, the adoption of the euro is a goal that GERB has consistently pursued over the years:
"All the other talk that is destabilizing our direction is aimed at destabilization and fear of the clarification of all financial capital movements, which are one of the most important things in the countries that are in the eurozone. We are not running away from the eurozone, we are heading there".
After the planned ban on vapes and energy drinks for children under 18 is introduced, changes will be proposed to the Penal Code to criminalize their violation, announced Kostadin Angelov and called:
"We need civil support to make this law (ban on vapes) a fact. GERB-SDF has the full determination to make this a fact. There are certainly economic interests, there are certainly corporate interests, but here it will be a matter of choice what is more important to us - whether the health of young people, of children, or corporate interest and the economy. The important thing is to make the choice and it will be evident from the speech in the hall and from the behavior of the political parties. The bill has been submitted to the National Assembly. Everything depends on the speaker of parliament, who will distribute it, and on the chairman of the economic committee, who must include it in the committee's agenda, pass it on first reading and be introduced into the hall.

GERB is ready to nominate candidates for all regulators, Angelov also said, specifying that the name of Ivanka Dineva as a proposal for the governor of the Health Fund is "news" for him.
