„The Movement for Rights and Freedoms” and the PG of „Democracy, Rights and Freedoms” expressed their categorical disagreement with the appointment of Lyudmila Petkova as director of the State Financial Inspection Agency (SFI).
"We learned about this decision only from media publications, without it being discussed within the framework of the Joint Management Council. We consider this approach unacceptable, as it was made without transparency and consultations with the entities within the SFI. Even more worrying is the fact that the goal is for the SFI to become yet another repressive structure in the hands of Delyan Peevski through his executor Ms. Lyudmila Petkova. The mission is obvious – using the institution as a club to put pressure on the inconvenient!", the party wrote in a statement sent to the media.
The party calls on Minister Temenuzhka Petkova to immediately withdraw the appointment of Lyudmila Petkova and "to restore the principle of transparency and consultations within the governing majority". People around Dogan remind that "according to the Agreement on a Parliamentary Majority for the Implementation of the Governing Program, decisions are made by consensus. In the absence of consensus, the issue can be postponed for additional discussion or a compromise proposal can be prepared".
"We insist on strict adherence to these principles, which guarantee the stability and effectiveness of governance. "The Movement for Rights and Freedoms" calls for the manifestation of a high coalition culture and relies on dialogue between partners. "We expect that open and constructive discussions will be held within the parliamentary majority, which will guarantee the making of well-founded and coordinated decisions in the interest of Bulgarian citizens," the position concludes.
