Mihail Mikov: Through the participation of the BSP in the government, an attempt is being made to resuscitate - 1

„The BSP took a position that hides many risks, for which there was a warning. Now, through participation in the government, an attempt is being made to resuscitate – and I think the result will not be very prosperous.“

This is how Mihail Mikov, former Chairman of the National Assembly and former Chairman of the BSP, commented on the program „This Morning“ on bTV about the participation of the left in the ruling coalition.

„The state of the BSP in recent years has led to it breaking its connection with its natural voters and that is why it is giving such results. A number of actions were taken that simply ruined the party. Including changes to the statute, fighting the internal party enemy, lack of a political compass, a clear political platform that would outline what the BSP is fighting for and whose interests it represents“, he specified.
However, the party currently holds positions in key ministries – from social, through regional, to youth and sports. Nevertheless, Mikov remains pessimistic:
„The National Council made the decision for the BSP to enter a coalition with GERB, although for years it was claimed that there was a congressional decision that set a limit to such a coalition. For years there were spells of “never with GERB“.

He added that the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov is political, not expert.

“Everything else is claimed to be a mitigation and forgetting of what was said before the elections, in order to outline the voters of one party or another“, Mikov pointed out.

“The situation is now quite complicated, because there are at least three factions in the opposition, each of which places barriers and mines in relation to the other. Now, as regulators are being put on the agenda, where they themselves got themselves into the adventure of a “two-thirds majority“, they will undoubtedly have to look to parts of the opposition that can form this arithmetic necessity of two-thirds plus one“, he also stated.

And he said that for this purpose “we will look where it can be given - which could also happen with the PP-DB“.
