The state is missing. For us, the explanation for high prices is the lack of regulation. Strong regulation and a strong CPC will lead to normalization of prices and the return of citizens' trust.
This was stated in the program "Osche ot dne" on BNT by the MP from "Prodluveme svetna svetna - Democratic Bulgaria" Ivaylo Shotev, who commented on the topic of high prices in our country, quoted by novini.bg.
"Today we gave a briefing, at which we showed a number of cartels, which, however, the CPC does not see. The CPC checks very selectively. I will give another example - the CPC has either not found a violation anywhere, or if it has found a violation, the fines are ridiculous and small. We are firmly against the BSP bill for a ceiling on the markup and the DPS-NN bill for a price ceiling. These measures will not work and this has been proven, they only distort the market and we will go back 35 years - to the planned economy. These measures violate all the principles of the free market. The way to deal with high prices is strong regulators. Currently, the regulators are not working. In the PP-DB, we believe in honesty and transparency in filling the positions of regulators. There should be competition between the candidates and the best one should become a member of the given regulator. The current composition of the CPC was elected with one 25-minute discussion and two speeches. We are against exactly that. We want each candidate to present their vision publicly. If a candidate does not have the necessary preparation and knowledge, this will be seen publicly and it will become clear that this person is not suitable for this job," Shotev gave an example.
