The co-chairman of “We Continue the Change“ Kiril Petkov explained on NovaNews air his reaction to the latest scandal in the National Assembly today. According to him, the reason is that from “There is such a people“ they decided not to support a commission against Delyan Peevski. “We saw that ITN changed its vote at the last minute in a very ugly way. On Wednesday, they pretended to support the “Peevski and Krasteva“ Commission, then suddenly changed their mind. It became clear that GERB-SDF and ITN are in some kind of partnership, as well as a large part of the “BSP-United Left“, so that Peevski can achieve his goal with these votes – not to have a commission against him“, Petkov said.
We recall that on Wednesday, “Continuing Change - Democratic Bulgaria“ requested that a decision be included in the agenda to establish a temporary inquiry commission on “the activities of Delyan Peevski and his mother Irena Krasteva and the commercial companies in whose capital and management structure they participate personally or through third parties“. Their goal is to establish whether the two have connections with parties, magistrates, media, business structures and state authorities. The decision did not garner a majority. 10 MPs from PP-DB were absent from the hall.
“ITN are showmen and constantly come up with some scenarios. Because on Wednesday they calculated that we did not have enough votes and decided to support us. Today they saw that all 37 MPs were in the hall and changed their minds to justify why they should support Peevski. It was obvious, I think, that this time the show did not work out the way they had hoped“, Petkov pointed out.
According to him, Slavi Trifonov's party does not support the Commission because there is a “deep and strong connection between “DPS-New Beginning“ and ITN“. “When it comes to critical moments, Peevski can count on them“, added the PP co-chairman.
According to Petkov, a person is being prepared for the chairmanship of the Commission for the Protection of Competition, who is entirely dependent on Delyan Peevski. “They will try to bring him in as a kind of expert. This is important because without a functioning CPC, the real cartels that hold prices as producers and traders will abuse“, he explained.
“We saw that Boyko Borisov is defending Delyan Peevski. This is very funny. The leader of GERB-SDF asks where our 10 MPs were on Wednesday, but does not say where his 67 were. With this behavior, he is trying to deceive his voters“, Petkov emphasized.
Kiril Petkov stated that the coalition will vote against the proposal for a ceiling on food price increases. “This is a non-working law. “BSP-United Left“ and “DPS-New Beginning“ hope to show that they are working for the people, but in reality, while diverting attention, they are introducing straw men into the CPC. This is a typical focus“, the MP noted.
He announced that PP-DB will have a candidate for ombudsman.
