President Rumen Radev convenes the National Security Advisory Council. The topic of the meeting is the risks and threats of the spread of narcotic and intoxicating substances among young people and their abuse, BNT reports.
It was convened after a series of cases in the last two months of young people using vape devices with a narcotic substance, which also led to the death of a 14-year-old child in Pleven.
A study by the National Center for Public Health shows that almost 13% of the population in our country has used some kind of drug at least once.
Over the past 5 years, the use of these substances has increased significantly - by 30%. The data were presented yesterday at a conference in the National Assembly. The Parliament is also preparing a ban on all vapes. It turns out that since the beginning of the year, the police have seized 40,000 illegal devices. The State Agency for Child Protection has already launched a campaign among students about the harms of vaping, laughing gas, and so-called designer drugs.
