The Energy Committee will consider the second reading of the emergency law for the payment of compensation to household consumers who were left without electricity at Christmas, reports BNT. Last week, the law was adopted by the deputies at first reading.
The legal changes came about after it became clear that the state has no legal basis to pay 2.2 million leva, which the Ministry of Energy promised would be deducted from February electricity bills. The law introduces the payment of compensation to consumers who were left without electricity for more than 24 hours between December 21 and 31 last year. The bill is expected to be finally voted on in plenary by the end of this week.
