As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I am categorically against Bulgaria sending soldiers to Ukraine in any form. This was stated by President Rumen Radev, commenting on the official inquiry sent by the US to European allies, including Bulgaria, regarding their readiness to participate in the process of guaranteeing the security of Kiev.
"If you remember, the big question that I raised from the very beginning of the war in Ukraine is not to allow Bulgaria to be involved. Today, against the backdrop of the collapsing global security architecture, this question is even more relevant.
I expect the government and the National Assembly to state a clear and unambiguous position that Bulgaria will not send troops," Radev also pointed out.
