This year, our vacation at sea in Bulgaria will be 10-15% more expensive than last year. The increase is due to the uncontrollable increase in food prices, hoteliers explain, as well as to the increase in staff insurance amounts, NOVA reported.
“In the peak season, there is a significant increase, reaching 15%. But compared to last year and early bookings, we have more or less kept up with the low inflation”, says hotelier Rumen Monchev.
Nevertheless, Bulgaria remains one of the most budget-friendly in Europe, especially compared to neighboring tourist destinations.
“A lot depends on the hotel. Just as there are hotels that are 4 stars and are in the lower price range, there are also those in the higher range. I think that between 200-200 and a little per person per day on an all-inclusive basis is absolutely a price that can be found on the market”, says Denitsa Baharova, sales manager. The increase this year is explained by the hoteliers with the uncertainty in the food market.
“We have to take into account the inflation that is pressing on us. And mainly with the delivery of products that are constantly growing upwards. This is not our fault. We still have to maintain the quality of the service. We cannot help but take into account that delivery prices are pressuring us”, says Rumen Monchev.
Milena Ruskova is the owner of a tour operator agency and believes that the increase in summer vacation packages in our country is relatively more advantageous compared to destinations neighboring Bulgaria. She gives Turkey as an example, where the increase is between 20 and 30%. “On the Antalya coast last year, a package was around 1100-1200 BGN, with organized transport, and this year the same hotel is around 1500 BGN”, says Milena Ruskova.
”On the Southern Black Sea coast, more hotels are being sought that are based on breakfast. In “Sunny Beach”, more all-inclusive, high-category hotels are being sought”, says Denitsa Baharova. In order to take advantage of a cheaper vacation, hoteliers and tour operators recommend early bookings. Until the end of February, the discount is 15% of the package price, and in March the percentage drops to 10.
