Yesterday's meeting at the White House brought back the truth about the war in Ukraine. It brought together the two approaches to finding a solution. One of President Trump's for an immediate end to the insane bloodshed and the search for paths to peace through intensified diplomacy and the other - for continuing the war at all costs, without regard to the victims and destruction, with open attempts to involve NATO in the war and the risk of World War III. This was announced to journalists by President Rumen Radev, quoted by Dariknews.bg.
According to him, many European politicians still cannot get out of the narrow ideological framework and realize the true nature and prospects of this war. "They continue to believe in some utopia that Russia will be defeated and continue to push Ukraine towards catastrophe in this way. The continuation of military actions from now on is accompanied only by even more death, even more destruction and even greater losses of territory", the head of state emphasized.
"The biggest problem for Ukraine in this war is not the supply of weapons, but that Ukraine is running out of people on the battlefield. If we do something, we will be faced with a dilemma - how to continue from here on out", Radev emphasized.
"The government's position on the war in Ukraine is a losing position". With these words, Rumen Radev commented on the position of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov in support of Kiev.
"Bulgaria always follows the position of the strong - always without its own thoughts about the nature and prospects of the war in Ukraine. There must be a ceasefire in Ukraine, and then a peaceful way out of this bloody conflict must be sought. Europe must find its place at the negotiating table. How can peace negotiations be held on the continent without its participation. European leaders must be more adequate to reality", the president said.
The president once again categorically stated that Bulgaria will not send its troops to Ukraine.
