"Vazrazhdane" preparations for protests across the country demanding the preservation of the Bulgarian lev have begun, said the party's leader Kostadin Kostadinov.
He called on Bulgarians to engage in civil disobedience and stressed that he was proud of everyone who joined the protest in Sofia, which - according to Kostadinov - was not a party protest, but a protest by the entire people.
"All other parties condemned us, but that doesn't bother us", the leader of "Vazrazhdane" also said, emphasizing that there are people who you must not like.
Regarding the clashes at the protest in Sofia, Kostadinov pointed out that the police used pepper spray, not the people who gathered.
"The State Department of Internal Affairs continues with its manipulations, and last night there were perversions against the detainees," Kostadinov pointed out, quoted by BNT.
"We have no complaints against the minister, what happened last night was entirely at Borisov's behest", believes Kostadinov, according to whom our country is governed by an undemocratic government, which people should oppose.
The cause for preserving the Bulgarian lev is not the party's, but the people's, pointed out the chairman of "Vazrazhdane". He added that neither the BNB nor the Ministry of Finance have presented clear analyses of what will happen if our country enters the eurozone. According to Kostadinov, "Vazrazhdane" constantly raises questions to which it receives no answers. According to him, the formation has also requested a meeting with the International Monetary Fund, but there has been no reaction.
"If Bulgaria enters the eurozone, the state budget will begin to be coordinated, i.e. to be approved by the European Central Bank," said Kostadinov.
According to him, this will mean that our country will not be able to act without permission if it wants to cut taxes or raise the minimum wage.
"The fight of "Vazrazhdane" is to have freedom of choice, because if we lose the lev, we lose everything," Kostadinov pointed out and added that there will be another protest in front of the parliament on Wednesday. According to him, such tension would not have arisen if a referendum were held to preserve the lev - an idea for which the necessary signatures have been collected.
