Bulgaria covers the last criterion for the eurozone - for price stability. This became clear at the beginning of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, reports BNT. Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said that today is a very important day for our country.
"According to these data, Bulgaria covers the last criterion for membership in the eurozone. This gives us reason today to make a decision to send a request to the EC, the ECB to prepare extraordinary reports on the convergence of Bulgaria," Petkova commented.
At today's extraordinary session, the government will consider the draft of the Law on the Budget of the National Health Insurance Fund for 2025, the draft of the Law on the Budget of the State Social Insurance for 2025 and the draft of the Law on the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2025, Dariknews.bg adds
They will be submitted to the National Assembly today, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said at the beginning of the session.
The 2025 budget sets itself the tasks of balanced growth without an increase in the tax and social security burden, the Prime Minister assured. We found challenges that we did not address and did not personalize, because we are guided by the maxim that whoever looks back is very likely to stumble forward. We will ask for the confidence of the National Assembly for the budget we are proposing, explained Rosen Zhelyazkov.
The Council of Ministers will also adopt the cabinet's management program.
