Delyan Dobrev took a bite out of Vazrazhdane: Their savings are in euros, they don't drive Russian cars - 1

All data indicate that we are completely ready. We have overcome the great scourge of the last 3 years - galloping inflation. Our inflation is one of the lowest in the European Union. We already meet all the criteria for our admission to the eurozone. We have already submitted a request for a convergence report. He said this in "Face to Face" on bTV, the deputy from GERB - UDF and chairman of the budget committee in parliament Delyan Dobrev, quoted by novini.bg

We tried to oppose the policies in the last 3 years, because the pro-inflationary budgets that were voted, with large increases in salaries and pensions, led to the fact that inflation jumped. Inflation in our country was twice as high as in Europe. The accumulated inflation melted 1/3 of the savings of all Bulgarians, Dobrev said.

In his words, our country's readiness for the eurozone is due to the reasonable fiscal policy of the caretaker cabinet and the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet: "Some can, and others cannot. "We continue the change" became most famous for not knowing how and making the wrong decisions. If Asen Vassilev were finance minister, we would not be ready for the eurozone, and we would have inflation of 6-7%".

He also commented on the protest of "Vazrazhdane" against Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, during which police officers were injured, the European Commission building in Sofia was doused with red paint, and its door was set on fire.

These were some lumpen manifestations with which they exposed themselves to all of Bulgaria and the whole world. There were specially prepared materials with which they could insult these institutions, there was no spontaneity in their actions.Who paid for the painted eggs, for the hammers of the provocateurs? I expect an answer to this question. "Vazrazhdane" increasingly wants to resemble the "Ataka" party, which no longer exists. If they think that with such actions they will increase their credibility, they are wrong. Either they are paid, or they want to look like "Attack" – neither is good for them, nor the other. They want to take advantage of the fact that in Bulgaria there is still not enough information about the benefits of the euro, the deputy from GERB – UDF pointed out.
We hope that in June the European Parliament will vote on a date for our entry into the eurozone, we hope it will be January 1, 2026. From this moment on, all prices in all stores will be displayed in both euros and leva. These prices will remain like this until the end of 2026 and if someone wants to raise prices in euros, they will not be able to do so, because they must also do so in leva. For a significant period, we will be able to pay in both euros and leva. 10 years after we become a member of the eurozone, you will be able to exchange your leva for euros. The government should talk more about this and I am sure it will, Delyan Dobrev added.

The benefits are that we will complete our integration into the European Union and become a full member of the richest union in the world, the best place to live in the world. All these so-called opponents of the eurozone from "Vazrazhdane" - their savings are in euros, I look at the parking lot of the parliament - they don't have a Russian car, they don't go on vacation in Sochi, but they travel around Europe, the States, maybe South America - none of them have gone on a trip to Russia. Bulgaria will only benefit from entering the eurozone - there will be economic incentives for tourism, more investments, more trade with the European Union. Entering the eurozone, figuratively speaking, will be like a red bull for our economy, said the chairman of the budget committee.

Asked if he was pleased that GERB is participating in the government together with the BSP, Dobrev said: "I am pleased that the country is back on the right track. If anyone has the credit for the fact that we meet the criteria for the eurozone, it is not even GERB, but the wise Bulgarian people who sent "We continue the change" into opposition. The current ministers are 100 times more capable than those we have seen in the last 4 years."
