Yavor Kolev: Pedophiles on the Internet are great psychologists

Children should be educated about the dangers of the Internet from a young age. Both girls and boys are equally at risk, said cyber expert Yavor Kolev. According to him, pedophiles on the Internet are great psychologists.

According to Kolev's observations, children from 10-12 years old create their own profiles on social networks. On gaming platforms, this happens even earlier.

"Sexual abusers create fake profiles with children's photos and start communicating. They have the skills to play well, captivate children and manipulate them. They establish contact with the child and gradually build trust in him. Then they start communicating on Telegram or another communication application. They send indecent photos and claim that there is nothing wrong with it. They predispose the child to turn on the camera on the phone, take pictures of themselves in a swimsuit or underwear, and subsequently force them to take off their underwear and perform sexual acts," the cyber expert explained the methodology to NOVA, quoted by FOCUS.

With the photographic material that the pedophile has accumulated, blackmail begins. The child must take pictures daily, otherwise he is threatened that the already taken footage will be shown to his friends and relatives, as well as posted on the Internet.
