Svilenski: Where is the budget - it's now March 1st, there's a water shortage, the electricity is out. 5 months - 1 adopted law

„This government must go. This parliament has been manipulated and created a fake government that produces fake results. Where is the budget - now it is March 1, there is a water shortage, the electricity is out. 5 months - 1 adopted law. And every month 10-15 thousand leva salaries for the deputies. Where is the government?“.
This was what long-time parliamentarian Georgi Svilenski, today part of „Rebellious Bulgaria“ said to Georgi Lyubenov on BNT this morning.
„This parliament must be dissolved and goes to new and fair elections. Otherwise, Bulgaria is stuck in a quagmire. The budget - this is money for people and for business, and those in power explain to us that this is wrong. The economy must work“, pointed out Svilenski, emphasizing:
„When we were in power, Bulgaria was in 1st place in industrial growth, and now we are in 33rd place. Incomes, consumption must be increased. When Ninova was the Minister of Economy - we had a 20 billion social program. When consumption goes - the economy goes and the standard rises. And now they want, if possible, to reduce everyone's incomes in order to reduce the deficit and enter the Eurozone. In our opinion, we are not ready yet“, he commented.
And in response to a question in the studio, he added: “In my opinion, the point that will end the government is the election of the regulators“.
Asked if the presence of the BSP in the government is a success, Svilenski pointed out: “Unfortunately, the BSP does not triumph in power. The voters of the BSP - these 180 thousand Bulgarian citizens, do not triumph in power. 5 people triumph, ministers, three deputy ministers and probably Mr. Karadimov, if he is elected as the governing regulator“.
Recalling one of the main reproaches of the current leadership to Cornelia Ninova, that she made unilateral decisions, Svilenski pointed out: “Ask now who proposed Mr. Karadimov? For 14 years we have been asking the question who proposed Delyan Peevski after that election as chairman of the State National Security Agency. Now, someone comes forward and says - who proposed Karadimov on behalf of the BSP? What we heard yesterday does not give us an answer. The only argument that was heard - because he was twice a minister in Glavchev's government and once in the development bank, a representative of the PP“, commented Georgi Svilenski. And he emphasized:
“The BSP has been reduced to a party that proposes the personnel of Borisov and Peevski, and of “We continue the change“. We did not hear even a single professional argument. We should not be angry with the BSP, because they are indebted to Mr. Peevski. He provided them with the presidency, provided them with the Congress, won them the battle in court. Peevski is not gaining influence in the BSP, he has his own BSP. The Congress that ended 2 weeks ago legitimized Mr. Peevski's power there. He has a deputy chairman there. I say this because I know these people in the BSP“, said the long-time parliamentarian, today part of “Unruly Bulgaria“.
“We heard the phrase “BSP - New beginning“ shortly after June 14, and shortly before that we had felt it. For 10 years, Kornelia Ninova held these things back. When Peevski's deputy comes, ask him what happened that it turned from a party of the socialists into a party of the MRF. The BSP cannot, from a fighter against corruption, make a decision at the Congress that this is a mistake, that you have to support corruption and the BSP should not participate in protests“, pointed out Svilenski.
„The question is what the BSP is defending in this government. Because when you froze social benefits, when you froze the minimum wage and you say that it is a great contribution that you did not reduce pensions - this theater is being played in front of someone who came to Bulgaria yesterday. Social freezer, frozen incomes, a non-working economy and the BSP "Barabar Petko with the men" in government. Whose interests are they protecting? What we fought for for 10 years was crossed out in the name of 5 ministers and 3 deputy ministers. This is a betrayal of 180 thousand Bulgarian citizens. I did not see happy and satisfied socialists“, said Svilenski in the conversation about the BSP.
„We are on our way to establishing “Unruly Bulgaria“. We have convened an Initiative Committee. A constituent assembly and registration in court are forthcoming, said Georgi Svilenski about the new party that Cornelia Ninova announced she was creating.
And when asked how close "Unruly Bulgaria" is to the BSP, he replied: "From this, the BSP today is very different. We are a center-left party. A party that will take care of the modernization of Bulgaria, the economy, education, social policy. And most importantly - the fight against corruption and changing the "GERB" model. Anyone who is against this model is welcome. This is the reason why we were expelled from the BSP. That is why we went our own way, which fortunately has many supporters," said Georgi Svilenski.
About today's geopolitical picture: “Europe, the world, Bulgaria need peace. However, what is happening is certainly not the path to peace. Europe must participate in the peace negotiations. Unfortunately, Bulgaria is not invited. Our Prime Minister is joining online. Hopefully what happened yesterday will not harm future peace negotiations. What we stand for is the Bulgarian national interest - for there to be peace. Because Europe suffered the most from this war, Bulgaria suffered a lot – both economically and industrially“, said Georgi Svilenski.
