BSP: The path to peace in Ukraine will be much longer and more difficult than we want. And it passes through Europe - 1

The BSP stands by its position that our efforts as a society, state and political leadership must be directed towards achieving peace. We do not back down from our view that this war pits two European and Christian peoples against each other and is fraught with enormous risk for the Old Continent. This was stated by the socialists in their position regarding the war in Ukraine and the aggravated relations between Kiev and Washington, Nova TV reports.
"Today, the topic of achieving peace has been put on the table in a categorical manner and we from the BSP support this. Obviously, the path to peace will be much longer and more difficult than we want. And it passes through Europe. We believe that the leadership potential of old Europe, based on values, reason and historical wisdom, must be awakened and used as a counterpoint to the extremes of all parties to the conflict", the BSP added in its position.

"Let us not forget - unity - the main pillar of the union, which we must confirm. Ukraine needs impartiality and the power of reason, which Europe can give it, in order to emerge with dignity from the conflict. Adding fuel to the fire and polarization are tools that will lead to the opposite. We should not allow military financial funds to absorb the education, healthcare and social responsibilities of European countries. We are convinced that Europe will once again get a historic chance to become a union of equal states, a cultural space for mutual assistance and cooperation" they also stated in the statement.
