The government will restart the project for the construction of a tunnel under the “Shipka“ and the infrastructure leading to it, because the project is important for everyone. This was said by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev during today's parliamentary control in response to a question from the parliamentary group of the DPS-Novo Nacholu about the degree of implementation of the project for a tunnel under the “Shipka“ and what actions and deadlines are planned for the preparation of the infrastructure on the southern side of the Stara Planina near Kazanlak.
“The realistic plan for this year is to build a large part of the route leading to the tunnel on the northern side. At the same time, it is critically important that activities are underway from the south, and for me, the first priority here is the design and construction of the Kazanlak bypass,“ answered Deputy Prime Minister Donchev, quoted by novini.bg.
He defined as necessary the organization of meetings between representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the “Road Infrastructure“ Agency and all municipalities along the route of Corridor No. 9. Here, he also paid special attention to the need to divert traffic outside of Sevlievo, through whose central parts the republican route currently passes.
We need to think about every settlement on the route of Corridor No. 9. The meeting is necessary and it must be held, he stated.
Deputy Prime Minister Donchev defined the last four years as bad for the project for a tunnel under “Shipka”.
