Political scientist: At least a year and a half after we enter the eurozone, we will need a stable cabinet - 1

It is not right to set a horizon for the cabinet until June, with any outcome of the situation with the eurozone we will need stability. If we receive a positive opinion, intensive preparation will have to be made in the next 6 months, and then the processes related to the turnover will have to be monitored for another 1 year. The opposition is strongly divided, while the government is holding steady. This was said by political scientist Prof. Milena Stefanova in the studio of “Your Day”.

We recall that the cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov survived the first vote of no confidence against him. It was submitted by “Vazrazhdane” and supported by the deputies from „Velicie” and MECH.

„The Convergence Report will have a positive impact on the country because it will say that Bulgaria is ready to enter the eurozone from January 1, 2026. Some will not like this, others will be happy. In the vote of no confidence, a majority emerged to support the government”, commented Prof. Stefanova.

In turn, lawyer Lidia Daskalova recalled that the eurozone is not the only priority for the country. „This is not the only major national cause, there are also problems to be resolved in defense, education and healthcare. And the cases of road victims and domestic violence make us feel a sense of injustice because of their layering for years. In future elections, two factors will play a very important role - what will the Constitutional Court decide upon the re-referral - whether the texts for the "home book" will be invalidated. The other case is about the counting of votes "I do not support anyone". Impunity for the outrages of the previous elections will also increase," she said.
