Bulgaria - through Radev's position - fell into the company of Slovakia, Serbia and Hungary of the European countries supporting Trump in his dispute with Zelensky.
It is no coincidence that they are also among the poorest in Europe.
Behind Radev were lined up - already self- “Atlantic” Peevski, who had forgotten about the medal from Ukraine, the racists from Vazrazhdane and the “conservatives” from ITN - who have always defended Russian interests in our country anyway.
BB copied (without mentioning Ukraine) Meloni's position, and DPS-Dogan took neutral positions. Only the next day, after obvious coordination, Zhelyazkov - in an effort not to extinguish hopes for the eurozone - posted 5 words in support of Ukraine on the social network of… Ellen Musk.
Only PP-DB took a firm and quick position in support of Ukraine and Zelensky - because there was nothing and no one to coordinate their values with.
This was commented on his Facebook page by economist Evgeniy Kanev on the occasion of the Trump-Zelensky meeting and yesterday's reactions on the topic by Bulgarian politicians. Here is more from Kanev's analysis:
That Radev has always been pro-Putin is no secret to anyone. But yesterday, for the first time, he defined the Bulgarian position in support of Ukraine as a losing one.
In his angry recitation, he defined the Bulgarian position as unprincipled and always in favor of the strong of the day - but it was not clear whether he considered Europe to be the strong (and then why are we losers) or Russia and the USA - and then how exactly his principledness differs from his own definition.
But in the good traditions of Bolshevik propaganda, he threw a few lines that were supposed to emotionally arouse fear and anger, instead of a rational assessment of the situation and the choice of useful action.
(1) The fire must cease immediately, instead of continuing to fight
The delicate moment of all pro-Putin mouthpieces is that their calls for peace are always directed at the victim Ukraine and never against the aggressor Russia. Even he is always absent. That is why there is no difference between the rhetoric of Trump and Radev, and Radev even quotes him in his own support. When we remove the veil from this appeal, it is nothing more than a call for Ukraine to capitulate.
(2) There is already a political will for peace in the US and Russia, Europe must enter reality.
By stripping this appeal of its Russian packaging, you will come to the logical conclusion that the reality is for Europe to come to terms with the fact that Ukraine cannot be a democratic pro-Western state. And it must accept Russia on its borders. To this end - in order to get a place in the negotiations, it must initial the agreements between Trump and Putin.
(3) If it continues like this (Ukraine resists), it will be left without people. And that is why it is not Putin who is to blame, but Zelensky with his recklessness.
In other words, our “commander in chief” would have willingly handed over Bulgaria to Putin long ago if he visited us after Ukraine - to save human lives.
(4) Soon people will have to be sent to Ukraine - and we will not send them - and a third world war will break out?!?
It is difficult to find any logic here, because it is only suggestions of fear. There will be no Ukrainians; and we will not send Bulgarians - then who will Putin fight with?
Oh, clearly, the peacekeeping contingent from Europe is actually counted as being involved in the current battle and here is a third world war.
And Radev-ITN have already excluded us from the European security debate - by tricking the parliament into voting on a declaration that Bulgaria - under no circumstances, even peaceful ones - will not send soldiers. Then why invite us to Europe?
(5) Only diplomacy - now and immediately - will solve the war
Radev's standard approach is to always select only those lines that fit Russian propaganda. No journalist would ask him what Zelensky asked Vance:
“and after Putin has violated treaties 25 times, what kind of diplomacy can be conducted with him?”
But the most important and obvious:
If there are no guarantees of peace for Ukraine, where will our guarantees be then?
After we ourselves give up on Europe, will Trump protect us from Putin?
Or what Radev is practically proposing is that it is better for Bulgarian soldiers to die on our soil than for Ukrainian soldiers to die in Ukraine?
