"On behalf of the MRF, we express our categorical indignation and strongly condemn the behavior of Prof. Kostadin Angelov, Chairman of the Joint Management Council. His unfounded accusations of anti-Semitic hate speech and scandalous statements, with which he deliberately tries to discredit our party, represent an irresponsible attempt to manipulate public opinion and instill ethnic prejudices.
Such a position was expressed by the MRF circle around Ahmed Dogan, quoted by FOCUS.
"On the day when we mark the 82nd anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews and pay tribute to the victims of the Nazi camps, such rhetoric is unacceptable and shows gross disrespect for historical memory and the values of tolerance. MRF has always been an advocate of open dialogue and constructive cooperation between communities. Our established relations with the Jewish and Palestinian communities, as well as partnerships with organizations such as OEB "Shalom" and the "American Jewish Committee" and the embassies of both countries, clearly demonstrate our commitment to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
We demand from Prof. Angelov an immediate public apology for his baseless statements, which not only undermine our party's reputation, but also threaten public peace. There is no place for such rhetoric in a democratic state built on the values of respect, equality and tolerance. Such behavior is unacceptable and must be condemned by all who value the true essence of democracy and respect for human values.
The DPS remains true to its commitment to building a society based on freedom, equality and mutual respect, where facts and responsibility towards Bulgaria are the basis of public discourse," the statement also says.
